Courtney:  Hi, I’m Courtney Uncooked and this is my dear friend and DJ, Julz Gat. I’m so excited to have Julz here today. Julz as you can see is like a ray of sunshine, he’s just… you know, you have the best energy everywhere you go. You just light up a room and if someone’s having a bad day, you just make them smile. You’re just the best, any party I go to, or bar or restaurant where you’re playing, you know it’s going to be a good time. So, thank you for being here and partying in my kitchen with me today and I’m just so glad to have you here. So Julz, tell us, like how are you surviving this crazy time right now? Or are you?

Julz: That’s a good question. Times are tough right now with the whole COVID thing and especially being an entertainer and musician, you know, I’m not getting booked as much, but I am very blessed to have gigs here and there. I’m at the new spot Aqua.

Courtney: Oh yeah, it’s like Vegas. The pool lounge will be thumpin yeah.

Julz: People on the pool…

Courtney: Yeah, it’s awesome.

Julz: And I’m at Waterside too…

Courtney: Okay.

Julz: Deejaying out there.

Courtney: Awesome.

Julz: But more recently I’ve been getting asked to play guitar a lot.

Courtney: Oh, I didn’t know you play guitar.

Julz: Right, yeah. A lot of people don’t so here I am.

Courtney: Well do you have your guitar with you?

Julz: I brought my guitar with me.

Courtney: What? Alright, Well are you going to play?

Julz: Yeah.

Courtney: Nice.

Julz: I’ve got an original about a fruit. We’ll check it out.

Courtney: Oh, okay.

Julz: Very fitting right?

Courtney: What a perfect song about a fruit, yeah. So, stay tuned till the end and hear Julz’s surprise song, so I can’t wait. Yay!  Well, I’m so glad to have you here and I know you love pad thai, so I wanted to show you how to make a delicious, raw vegan pad thai today.

Julz: That’s going to be exciting.

Courtney: Yes.

Julz: And you know, you inspired me when you did reach out and invite me on the show. I was like hey, maybe I should start eating good because you know, eating clean, clean body clean mind.

Courtney: Absolutely. Yes, yes. And the best thing you can do for your immune system today, eat clean.

Julz: Right, yeah. Especially in these times.

Courtney: Exactly. All right. So, let’s do it. So, what we’re going to do is we’re just in this recipe, you’re going to have one red pepper and one yellow pepper and a zucchini. So, I love this Pampered Chef slicer, all you do is cut the pepper in half and take out the seeds and stuff, and then you’re going to love this, all right. So, you just sit it there. Isn’t that beautiful?

Julz: Yeah.

Courtney: I know. I know.

Julz: I can see how that can really benefit someone without proper knife skills.

Courtney: Yeah. Because before I had, you know, these pampered chef tools, it would take forever. I mean, this is so much slicing for this recipe and I went ahead and did these here, you can just see the beautiful pieces that this little machine makes. And I did the cabbage before you got here, same thing, I just put the cabbage into like force and I put it on there and that was good, and then we’re just going to spiralize some zucchini. I already did most of it, but I just wanted to show you my handy dandy, Pampered Chef spiralizer. Set it on the little blade…

Julz: This is a cool tool because I’ve always wanted…

Courtney: So cool.

Julz: To make zucchini noodles.

Courtney: Yes. And there are all kinds of spiralizers on the market, but this one actually uses gravity and puts gravity to work for you.

Julz: That’s nice.

Courtney: So it’s very easy. Look at that. Yes, and then shredded up two carrots, my Pampered Chef shredder, and then three green onions. I love green onions and that’s it. And then we’re just going to put some Sesame seeds and hemp seeds on the top when we’re done. So, I’m going to let you get started on the sauce. And so, you’re just going to combine everything and this is actually a Pampered Chef manual food processor. And I know you like to go camping and you’re always on the beach so this is something that you can use. You don’t even have to plug it in or anything.

Julz: That’s so cool.

Courtney: So… yeah, you’re just going to combine all the ingredients in here. So you’ve got some tamari, and then some lime juice, go ahead and add that garlic and then I’m going to show you this really cool Pampered Chef garlic press, that you don’t even have to take the skin off of. You just put the whole thing in there and clamp it, and push down, look at that. It squeezes it…

Julz: Man, that’s so cool.

Courtney: Out the bottom with the skin on. So neat.

Julz: That’s impressive.

Courtney: Yes.

Julz: Ginger.

Courtney: Ginger, and then we’ve got some sesame oil, a little bit of agave. Just smells delicious. I love this raw pad thai. What’s the best kind of boat to eat Thai food on?

Julz: A ferry boat?

Courtney: The Titanic. Actually, that might be the worst boat to eat it on because that’s not a happy ending.

Julz: You might not finish.

Courtney: Might not get dessert if you’re on the Titanic. Alright, yep. So, that’s our final ingredient is just a fourth, a cup of delicious raw peanut butter. So now you’re just going to put the top on that.

Courtney: And press down and just give it a go. How easy is that?

Julz: You know, that’s nice. I definitely need this thing.

Courtney: Everyone needs this thing. Catherine  with Pampered Chef has saved my life. I used to dread all the chopping and now I actually look forward to it and it’s fun so…

Julz: Yeah, this makes it fun so…

Courtney: Isn’t that fun?

Julz: So cool.

Courtney: Okay I think that looks good. What do you think?

Julz: Yeah that looks alright.

Courtney: Perfect.

Julz: That’s the perfect consistency right there.

Courtney: So, we’re just going to pour that on top. Oh, man! Goody, goody.

Julz: It’s making my mouth water just smelling that.

Courtney: Yum. See we got everything in there and then I’m just going to let you stir it up or we’ll teamwork it.

Julz: Teamwork.

Courtney: How bout that?

Julz: Smells great.

Courtney: How’s that look.

Julz:  I can’t wait to taste this.

Courtney: Oh, my goodness. That looks so good.

Julz: It does.

Courtney: That’s for sure.

Julz: Absolutely.

Courtney: We need those sesame seeds and you can sprinkle hemp seeds on the top for some added protein and texture. Thank you.

Julz: I feel like the salt guy.

Courtney: This really makes it too so I’m glad you remembered this, Julz. Alright. I could eat that all day every day.

Julz: I would eat this every day. If this was lunch for the rest of my life I would have it. Wow.

Courtney: Making raw pad thai with my boy Julz. You know, this stuff is amazing, oh, it gives you the fuel. So, check it out. You can know it’s so enticing, but I have to admit there was a lot of slicing. The peanut sauce on top really gives it a kick and it’s so dang good your bowl is gonna get licked. No, you don’t need a stove or an oven to cook. Just a blender, dehydrator, and some Courtney Uncooked. I say, Courtney, Courtney Uncooked. I say, Courtney, Courtney Uncooked.

Julz: I was walking down the grocery store when I seen this fruit that I have never seen before. It looked like it was purple on the outside with a yummy tasty inside, that’s what it said. It was mangosteen, what kind of flipping fruit is mangosteen? Mangosteen is a fruit I’ve never heard of before. It’s a mango. No, it’s not a mango. It’s a mango, yeah it’s flipping mangosteen. It’s a mango, no, it’s not a mango. It’s a mango, yeah it’s a flipping mangosteen.
